Headshot Pricing

-ADULTS-

For a price of $295 I'll give you:

--roughly 3 hours of time to accomplish what we're after (we'll review shots from time to time to make sure we're going in the right direction. We could be happy in an hour, who knows?)
--As many wardrobe changes as time allows (most want 3-4, but some need a bunch) Beyond 3 hours, it would be an additional $60 per change of look.
--We can shoot outdoors with natural light or inside under controlled lighting, if time allows we can do some of both. I offer a variety of light set-ups in studio to showcase your strengths. You can even bring pics from magazines or other people's headshots and we will try to match that lighting style.
--150-350 shots (who knows how many we'll need? Roughly 50 plus for each look)
--4 touched up images* Additional retouches beyond those as part of the package will be for $15 per image.
--Online proofsheets will be posted within 72 hours with your own URL to send to all your friends and representatives for viewing. (I'll also retain rights to use them for my site, flyers, marketing, etc). Online proofs are at 72 dpi, versus the 300 dpi for the final DVD. Should you wish for me to mail the DVD to you instead of you picking them up, then that would be an extra $20 for my time and postage, etc. The final disc with the edited images will also be available to pick-up for free or me mailing them for $20.

--I also include on the disc files of all pics in 300 dpi, those ready for L A Casting at their specs, as well as Actors Access, and the 4 pics that you chose will be set up with borders and your name...and ready to print. That's 4 different files!

What you'll give me:

--Your real personality and professional attitude. The professional attitude includes professional courtesy. Be on time for your shoot just like you'd be on time for an audition. Whatever time we have scheduled for the shoot is when your 3 hours begins.
--Ideas of what you want and how you want it (We'll work together on this)
--A few hours or more to have fun and get great shots

--A model release so that I can use your pics on my site, promos, etc. so I can get even more business.

*You'll decide on these probably after you've gone home and really spent time with the pics. Of course, I'll be more than happy to guide you as to my favorites, should you wish. After you decided on your picks, you'll call me or email with the image numbers and tell me what basic things you want me to do with the pics (crop, clear blemishes, lighten, change red hues, etc., basic stuff). I do NOT claim to be a retouch pro. It is my belief that people should look like themselves. Lines in the faces and other things that would not otherwise be covered with make-up should not be considered in what I take care of in "touch-ups." I handle basic functions. I do what I can to help you out, but for more advanced needs I suggest you go to a retouch pro. Once I've finished them I'll alert you as to you picking them up. There will be an additional charge beyond the four included.

** Most reps don't want to look at a couple of hundred shots. They like for them to be limited to 10 or so shots per look, maybe more if there aren't a lot of different looks. I will upload those pics and then send the link to you. You can then email that link to your reps.

PAYMENT IS DUE AT THE TIME OF THE SHOOT
Currently we only accept cash or checks. If it is in the form of a check, completed work will not be delivered until the check has cleared.

-CHILDREN-
For $150 I will give you:

--1- 1 1/2 hours of shooting with the same approach as above. Children definitely have a shorter attention span, so during the time that I have them I really try to make it happen and just capture their spontaneity, within the fun environment we try to set for them.

--Up to three wardrobe looks (children don't require as many as adults, since they rarely go from being corporate attorneys to construction workers.)

--3 touched up images*

As I said, I try to establish myself with your child so it doesn't feel like it's work for them. I want them to just "play" and be themselves. Their personalities will be given room to shine. Luckily for me, I love kids.

Cost for image handling, extra editting beyond the 3, DVDs pick-ups, online proofs, etc. is the same as discussed in the Adult category.

Guarantee
I absolutely guarantee that you will get terrific headshots. If there are no good headshots because of a technical mishap, I will gladly reshoot you. To date, this has never happened and probably never will. We'll review the images from time to time during the shoot and adjust lights, maybe change lighting set-ups, etc. All requests for changes must be made during the shoot, not after. Obviously, we will not reshoot if a model/actor simply isn't satisfied with their own poses or expressions. I will do all I can to set you up for a successful, professional shoot.

YOU OWN YOUR PICTURES!!!
Let me say that again, you own your pictures!
As the photographer I will be a co-owner with you. In that way I can use your pics for my purposes such as marketing, websites, promotion, etc. But you will get a copy of the disc with all usable shots on it. (I say "usable" only because some clients wish to have the eye-blinked, or otherwise bad shots, deleted from their discs.)

It bothers me to no end how many photographers hold onto YOUR pics and then essentially re-sell them to you, should you want more later! My last photographer actually only gave me the B&W of my shots. He didn't even give me the color and B&W versions. That would've cost me more if I'd asked for that. I understand that they want to hold onto the images so that the client will pay for Photoshop work, etc., on future selections. But I'd rather give them all to you and just hope that you would choose me to do your future editing work because you loved what I did with the camera. If you don't want me to do the re-touch, so be it. There are excellent people in town who do nothing but re-touch, and they charge very highly for it. The option should be yours and I'll still hope that I gave you shots that will make you want to come back to me anyway! My expertise should be in getting "you" to jump through my lens, not on how to embellish after the fact.

The bottom line is that you should not be held hostage to pay over and over again for shots that you already paid for! That will NOT happen with me. The disc of High Res pics are yours to do with as you please.
